Under the direction of United States Coast Guard Licensed Master Captain Thomas Ertle, our experienced team of marine professionals specializes in the delivery of ocean going recreational motor vessels to all points on the Atlantic East Coast, Gulf and Caribbean.
Meet Captain Tom
When hiring a ship captain for your vessel, you want to make sure that you entrust your asset to a qualified captain. Safety and experience are paramount, and all licenses must be in compliance with USCG rules and regulations.
Meet Captain Thomas Ertle (Captain Tom). Captain Tom is a USCG Licensed 100 Ton Master with Commercial Towing Assistance endorsement. Starting his maritime history with his family in the 1970’s, Captain Tom has nearly 50 years of experience on the water. Captain Tom has been a USCG Merchant Mariner licensed master for over 20 years.
Captain Tom is also a graduate engineer and professional land surveyor. With his diverse years of practice, extensive knowledge of mapping, charting and navigating, Captain Tom will find the way for any nautical voyage, which will be the most economical, efficient and successful whether on a charter or delivery.
Captain Tom’s education and experience allows him to be a natural instructor.  Having had a successful business for nearly 30 years, Captain Tom has had to manage his company, clients and personnel effectively and efficiently. Captain Tom was also a New Jersey State Police certified Boating safety instructor. He taught boating safety to thousands of students during his tenure. Capt. Tom is a PADI certified Divemaster. Being a divemaster, Captain Tom was able to work with students and instructors in helping them acquire their diving certifications. Patience and understanding are crucial in this scenario as panic and anxiety can be fatal. With all of Captain Tom’s life experiences, his demeanor, and his integrity, he is very well suited to make guests feel comfortable and owners feel confident.

Captain Tom is an exceptional captain who went above and beyond to deliver our 46’ Viking yacht from Brielle, New Jersey to Washington, DC. After purchasing the yacht in upstate New York, we managed to drive it to Brielle but couldn’t continue the journey ourselves. We reached out to Captain Tom late on a Friday, and despite the short notice, he coordinated with his mate Mike and met us at the boat early Sunday morning.
By Monday evening at 4 PM, Captain Tom was pulling up in DC. His communication throughout the journey was outstanding; he kept us informed of everything happening along the way. Additionally, he meticulously kept all receipts and provided valuable suggestions on driving the boat and how it handled.
